With the economy in the tanker, people are looking for ways to save money on their wedding and wondering, "Why spend hundreds of dollars to hire a professional company when my friend, a DJ from an online classified ad or an MP3 player can do the same thing for less?" But hiring a DJ is not always an "apples to apples" comparison. While you might pay less for the services of an amateur entertainer, you may not be buying an equivalent product. Differences in quality and style can make a very big difference. The abilities of your DJ selection can determine how enjoyable your reception is for yourself and your guests; whether your dance floor stays packed all night long or whether everyone leaves complaining about the longest, most boring, night of their life!

Ask yourself, "How will my DJ be dressed?" Better yet, ask your potential DJ how they dress to handle weddings. Is your DJ going to stick to any “must play” or “do not play” requests that you have? Will your DJ be set up early and ready when the guests arrive, or will they still be unloading at the beginning of dinner?
A professional DJ will partner with you in planning, paying careful attention to your musical preferences. Pros understand the critical importance of being early and on-time, arriving early and dressing appropriately for your event, typically in tuxedos or other black-tie evening wear.
You're not the only one who should be invested in your big day...
You've got a lot invested in making your own memories and those of everyone who will be in attendance. A pro DJ has an investment in their business and their reputation and are going to do everything in their power to please you and your guests. Their dedication is to making the night everything you want it to be. Amateurs just do not have that same incentive.
