Why Should I hire a Professional DJ?

Ask

yourself

Ok, first things first........

With the economy in the tanker, people are looking for ways to save money on their wedding and wondering, "Why spend hundreds of dollars to hire a professional company when my friend, a DJ from an online classified ad or an MP3 player can do the same thing for less?" But hiring a DJ is not always an "apples to apples" comparison. While you might pay less for the services of an amateur entertainer, you may not be buying an equivalent product. Differences in quality and style can make a very big difference. The abilities of your DJ selection can determine how enjoyable your reception is for yourself and your guests; whether your dance floor stays packed all night long or whether everyone leaves complaining about the longest, most boring, night of their life!

So some "DJ" quoted you like $100 bucks for your wedding? Cool, but...

A LOT of low-priced "bargain" DJs aren’t charging enough to support their own businesses for the long term; you’re just financing their hobby.

But wait, your wedding is 6-12 months away or more!

It's sad that Pro DJ's have to hear those  heartbreaking calls from desperate couples who had a “friend of a friend” DJ cancel on them last minute.  It’s not pretty.

Do you want to risk the possibility that the cheapie DJ is bankrupt and out of business before your big day?

How much work do you actually want to do on your wedding day?

How about leaving the work to the Pro's and you getting some peace of mind and awesome memories?

What do you want to remember most about your reception? Worrying whether your caterer knows it’s time to pour the champagne or if your photographer knows it’s time to cut the cake? Coordinating your reception instead of dancing? Cutting your fun just to make announcements? Making sure the MP3 player you wanted to rent is on the right song or song list? Listening to songs you don’t particularly like or maybe have never heard?

When you hire a professional DJ company it lets you actually relax and enjoy the party you’ve spent so much time planning, letting you enjoy the company of your closest family and friends you've brought together for your special day!

Sometimes, especially on your big day, the equipment does matter!

A home stereo, even a high end one, just will not cut it when you're projecting to a party of 2 or 3 hundred people! Your DJ's setup should able to produce high-quality sound sufficient to fill your reception hall but still sensitive enough to prevent the music from blaring or becoming distorted. Do you need a microphone for toasts or other events? A professional DJ company will utilize specialized equipment designed to fill a large hall without distortion and will have microphones (preferably wireless) available for speeches and announcements. Plain and simple, a pro DJ is bringing "heavy artilery" to your wedding and he knows how to use it! Don't make the mistake of renting a sub-par system or hiring a hobby-dj that can't fill your dance floor with quality sound and quality memories!

How about that ettiquette? Professionalism is a Pro DJ's middle name!

Ask yourself, "How will my DJ be dressed?" Better yet, ask your potential DJ how they dress to handle weddings. Is your DJ going to stick to any “must play” or “do not play” requests that you have? Will your DJ be set up early and ready when the guests arrive, or will they still be unloading at the beginning of dinner?

A professional DJ will partner with you in planning, paying careful attention to your musical preferences. Pros understand the critical importance of being early and on-time, arriving early and dressing appropriately for your event, typically in tuxedos or other black-tie evening wear.

You're not the only one who should be invested in your big day...

You've got a lot invested in making your own memories and those of everyone who will be in attendance. A pro DJ has an investment in their business and their reputation and are going to do everything in their power to please you and your guests. Their dedication is to making the night everything you want it to be. Amateurs just do not have that same incentive. Almost 99% of the time, they're in it for a few bucks or because they thought they might be able to have some fun and meet some people. Or they could even be the next "wedding-crasher" horror story! Their priorities just aren't the same as yours. The wrong DJ can turn your dream wedding into a nightmare.
